Consumer campaign – "Get energy fit!"

Consumer campaign – "Get energy fit!"

ERANZ and EnergyMate launched the new "Get energy fit" social media campaign in December 2024 to help Kiwi consumers understand more about their power bill and how they can save money on their electricity.

The campaign features Colin the animated energy coach who will present simple information about electricity use and options, and then direct viewers to the EnergyMate website to learn more.

Our members work hard to support vulnerable consumers, and this campaign is another example of how they do this. We know it’s financially tough for many right now, so even though we’ve tried to make the content fun, we also want to provide information that will genuinely help consumers save money and feel a little more empowered.

The campaigns ads and videos will run across Facebook, YouTube and TVNZ+ until around Waitangi Day 2025. So keep your eye out for Colin over the next few weeks!

Watch our video series

This is the first video in the series and it’s all about how to understand your electricity bill. It stars Colin the Energy Coach, of course, alongside Linda of Keri Keri and her cat Fluffy.
In the second video Colin answers a text question from Aroha about time-of-use plans and encounters his first fist-bump emoji. As Colin says, “Time-of-use plans are brilliant if you can be flexible, like washing your clothes at off-peak times when electricity is cheaper.”

In the third video Colin tells "Confused of Cambridge" that with a fixed-price plan your rate stays the same so it helps you budget. But he also explains that there are lots of plan types. "You just need to find the plan that's right for you."
